This time we will discover a new route in the Ķemeru Bog, away from the usual paths. We will see Krāčkalni lake, inland dunes, World War 1 trenches, bog lake labyrinths and small 150-year-old pine trees.
As always, we will help you discover the secrets of the bogs and the bog shoes will allow you to go where it would otherwise be difficult or even impossible. This will be a great opportunity to get to know hiking with bog shoes, overcome the fear of swamps in a comfortable and safe way, have a great time in nature and listen to exciting stories. The hike will take place in any weather conditions, because adventures in the bog are always exciting in great company.
Saturday, April 22 at At 10:00 we meet at the parking lot near the peat quarries of Ķemeru Bog. We plan ~4 hours for the hike (rest and photo breaks included). The route is circular. We will provide you with bog shoes, but if you have your own, please write, we will give you a discount.

- Participation fee for the hike: 25 EUR; 10 EUR (ages 7-17).
- What to bring: snacks and a warming drink, swimming trunks and a towel if you are ready to open the swimming season
- Wear: Rubber boots or hiking shoes that cover the ankle to reinforce the bog shoes
How to get?
By car: along the Riga – Venstpils highway (A 10, E 22) until the turn to Kalnciems (P101), turn left and about 3.6 km to the parking lot on the edge of the marsh at the border of Babīte and Jelgava counties.
